C-for-Chinese@JC useful resources for primary transition (Urdu)
“C-for-Chinese@JC” aims to enhance the Chinese proficiency of ethnic minority kindergarten students for better transition to primary education.
Transition to primary school is an important milestones for young children, having a smooth transition and better adaptation to primary school life are especially important to the ethnic minorities. The Project team has produced a series of short videos in different languages for parents to understand every step of primary one admission, including deliberation of Hong Kong education system, school network, primary one admission system, important dates and required actions, school selection, relevant forms and documents, creation of child’s portfolio, tips for approaching the schools directly, etc.
Besides encouraging active parent involvement, teachers can also relate to the materials for explaining to parents with different ethnic backgrounds.
